New to online betting or just need a quick refresher? Here are the key terms every cyl8 player should know.
Asian Handicap
A betting format popular throughout Southeast Asia that eliminates the draw outcome by giving one team a virtual head start or deficit. Commonly used for EPL and Liga Super Malaysia matches, it generally offers better value than traditional 1X2 markets.
Over/Under (Totals)
A wager on whether the total combined score (goals, points, etc.) in a match will be above or below a number set by the bookmaker — for example, Over 2.5 goals in a football match.
Odds Formats
Odds are displayed in three main formats: Decimal (e.g. 2.10), Fractional (e.g. 11/10), and American/Moneyline (e.g. +110). cyl8 displays decimal and Asian odds by default, which most Malaysian players find easiest to read.
RTP (Return to Player)
The long-term percentage of total wagered money that a slot or casino game returns to players as winings. A slot with 96.5% RTP theoretically returns RM96.50 for every RM100 wagered over millions of spins.
House Edge
The mathematical advantage the casino holds over players in the long run. European roulette, for example, has a 2.7% house edge. It does not predict short-term results, but explains why the house profits over large sample sizes.
Wagering Requirement
Also called rollover — the number of times you must wager a bonus amount before you can withdraw any winings derived from it. Example: a RM100 bonus with10x wagering requires you to place RM1,000 in total bets before cashing out.
Live Dealer Casino
Games where a real human dealer runs the game (baccarat, blackjack, roulette) via live video stream. You see the cards being dealt or the wheel being spun in real time, combining the convenience of online play with the authenticity of a physical table.
Slot Volatility
How frequently a slot pays out and in what size. High volatility slots pay less often but deliver bigger wins. Low volatility slots pay out smaller amounts more frequently. Medium volatility sits in between — a balanced risk profile suited for most casual players.
Progressive Jackpot
A jackpot prize pool that grows each time a player wagers on the connected game — across all players on the network. It resets to a base amount after someone wins the top prize. Can reach millions in value on large networks.
Cashback
A loyalty rebate where a percentage of your net losses over a defined period (daily, weekly, monthly) is returned to your account. At cyl8, cashback rates increase with your VIP tier — from 0.3% at Bronze up to 1.2% at Diamond level.
